About Us
Only one of our trustees resides in Napier, while the other two are based in Hamilton and Te Kūiti. As a result, all trustees work remotely with one another to manage the business of the B2H3 Moteo, Wharerangi 8C2C, and Moteo A Lot 2 DP 4899 land blocks.
Please note that these trustee roles are unpaid voluntary roles that require a significant amount of time and commitment to uphold. All of our trustees already hold full-time positions in their own careers and carry out trust responsibilities online, serving as kaitiaki (guardians) of our land business.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding, especially during times when trustees are balancing workloads, health matters, and whānau (family) responsibilities.
Facebook Pages
There are two Facebook pages for the Heremia Family Trust, both managed by our trustees.
To remain a member of these pages, we ask that everyone upholds the values of kindness and respect towards all whānau.
Disrespectful behavior or cyber bullying may result in removal by the page administrators to ensure a safe and supportive space for everyone.
Succession Planning
If you’re interested in becoming a potential trustee, or would like to shadow our current trustees to build your confidence and understanding, we warmly encourage you to send us your CV. All of our Trustees have completed the Trustee training with the Māori Land Court and found it very valuable. If suitable, we can arrange this training for you too.
Succession planning for ‘up and coming’ trustees aligns with our kaupapa as we aim to prepare our younger whānau for future leadership roles in our Māori land business.
We’re looking for whānau who are:
- Able to work with aroha
- Willing to learn new skills
- Creative and proactive
- Honest and reliable
- Guided by integrity and tikanga Māori
- Positive communication skills with both young and old.
- Patient and Kind
If this sounds like you or someone you know, we’d love to hear from you. Text our Chair Lisa, on 0210773493 for the email if you have any enquiries.
